Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
