Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to coach Liverpool is plausible in theory.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that a future comeback remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell which brought continental glory and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, currently occupies roles as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and as an advisor to Germany's league body.

Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments

They secured the league title last season, though countless followers who revere Klopp would embrace the possibility of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he told his interviewer: “I declared I refuse to lead a different club in England. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, that means the choice could be mine in a few years, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I can just see how things unfold.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Questioned regarding the specific conditions would have to unfold to tempt his return to the touchline, he revealed he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “No longing for management; No desire to be in the rain for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip interviews multiple times weekly or doing numerous chats each week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the players talking freely, that’s nice. We won a lot of games meaning regularly great spirits in the building. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended regarding Arne Slot, praising him due to the changes that took the title in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four in a row in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the suggestion that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. An outstanding player. The French striker, incredible player. They have a strong well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, and the effect at the club. The forward lost his life in a vehicle collision together with his sibling this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? It’s not about the player himself, it's his character. I can’t imagine the team environment missing him. Putting it into words is tough about it. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad also. No one within the club might employ it to justify results but it is the situation. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Dealing with that individually is difficult. Impossible.”
