The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Send Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to send support to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded following a large-scale benefit event held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of artists featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All took part in the September show, which successfully generated a significant sum for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a group of producers and composers. The track blends a combination of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The group managing the initiative have clarified that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These resources will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the region was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a few million won't make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a digital service from the 19th of December.
